Allegheny Peruvian Killians Red

Birthdate: 9/1/2005
Heritage: Full Peruvian
Registration: ARI Registered
ARI #: 1379884
Color: Medium Brown

Type: Male Suri
Status: Unproven

Description: This young male is worthy of second looks all around! We acquired him to add both new genetics and new color possibilities to our suri herd, and this full Peruvian maroon male is exciting. I have no doubt he will become a stellar performer and will add highly desirable color and fleece characteristics to his progeny.

Killy has nothing but color in his pedigree - mostly browns but with a dark fawn grandsire right off import. Killy's fleece is demonstrating an exceptional ability to relock following his initial shearing. He has lots of luster, density and coverage, as well as a beautifully compact body frame. Killy has developed a nice breadth of chest, and is exceptionally well-muscled now that he has reached maturity, which is an excellent attribute for a breeding male.

Killian has tested BVD-negative.

Peruvian Nolina is a beautiful dark suri with a white neck & socks, plus a brown/gray face. She captivates you with her presence displaying superb conformation, good size bone, straight top line and straight legs. Her fleece offers beautiful locks, very good density for a dark color and excellent coverage. Nolina is an excellent mother, has lots of milk and is an easy breeder and birther.

One of Nolina's previous crias was auctioned off at the Alpacas of America's Las Vegas production sale for a very nice price. Some felt that Nolina's cria was the nicest female suri in that auction.

Nolina's 2005 cria from Vivaldi is a show quality dark suri that sold prior to weaning. We have bred Nolina back to Vivaldi in hopes of a repeat preformance. Vivaldi is our dark maroon, full Peruvian herdsire who has won MULTI-BLUE ribbons. Vivaldi not only throws show quality offspring, but he throws dark colored suris having 70% maroon offspring, 15% black offspring and 15% fawn offspr

Full Peruvian Vivaldi is a multiple first place winner, with blue ribbons in both halter and fleece classes. He also has won a blue ribbon for "Best Hand" -- roughly the equivalent to a Grand Champion ribbon in fleece competition -- since it is the judge's #1 choice out of all the fleeces at a show.

Vivaldi displays attitude, presence, and a strong suri phenotype. He has a strong conformation, correct proportions, a square back, straight legs, even hocks, and a good bite.

With definition to the skin, Vivaldi's dark maroon pencil locks offer curls of a rare color. In fact, maroon is so rare in alpacas, that the color was officially removed from the ARI color chart due to insufficient alpacas being registered as possessing the color (ARI now includes maroon alpacas in the brown category). The most expensive suri alpaca at public sale -- who sold for over $250,000 -- is maroon.

Vivaldi's sire is known for throwing award-winning suri offspring and has contribut
