LSF Sonnet

Birthdate: 11/13/2004
Heritage: 3/8 Bolivian, 1/8 Chilean, 3/8 Peruvian, 1/8 Other/Unknown
Registration: ARI Registered
ARI #: 30039586
Color: Light Rose Grey

Type: Male Suri
Status: Non-Breeder

Description: Sonny has reached 2 years of age, and we've decided that despite his fantastic fleece qualities, we have as much of his genetics as we need in our herd, and need to move a few males. So, we're offering Sonney at a very reasonable price as a non-breeder for your fiber herd. When it comes to fiber, Sonny has it all!

If lock structure is important to you, within weeks of shearing, Sonny had completely relocked, a trait that few suris exhibit. His fleece is again fully locked and twisted, only 6 months following shearing. Most suris take 8-10 months before relocking becomes this evident! And check out his fleece stats! This male has some of the nicest suri fleece you can imagine. His AFD is sweet, but look at that CV!

Sonny has confused us from the beginning about his true color! Born what we believed to be a light (the golden or "palomino" fawn that our suris are noted for), by the time he was 6 months old he had begun to develop increasing amount of light silver gray strands through his fleece (which were pointed out to us by another breeder while he and his dam were at the 2005 NAA!). Sonny's fawn coloring has increasingly taken on a taupey, light silver gray tone that seems to be intensifying with age, and we are now considering him a light rose gray. Go figger! With grays, who knows?

In any and all events, Sonnet has an elegant carriage and a whimsical personality. He would make a wonderful 4-H project or a very special spinner's alpaca.

Sonny is negative for BVD and Brucellosis.

Martina is one of the special ones! She not only has the most exquisite golden fiber, but its lock individuation is extraordinary (we cannot shear a blanket from her, because the locks don't hold together!). Martina is easy to manage, and loves back- and neck-rubs, apples and other treats. She has now born three fabulous crias, and is a superior, very protective mother. She is an easy birther and an excellent milker. Martina has again given us an absolutely smashing cria, this time with the most unique coloring we've ever seen in alpacas! Martina will now be held open until spring 2005.

This golden son of 4Peruvian Sheriff has exquisite, dense fiber that lights up the pasture! Colonel's fiber excels in luster and handle, and is uniform in those qualities as well as his golden color from head to tail. He bears a dense, twisted, ropey lock structure, and his fiber has that coveted cool "greasy" feel. He also has excellent leg coverage to his toes. With excellent bone density, his conformation is near perfect, and his stature and demeanor befitting that of royalty. He is an aggressive breeder, perfect for the reluctant female (we do not test with him!). Let The Colonel bring glowing results to your suri breeding program. His first crias excelled in lock and luster (see our listing for LSF Sarabande for an example).
